A Second Look

Photography has always been a way to study the natural world. Since growing up in a rural setting, I have been fascinated with nature and the wildlife in it. It provides a motivation for me to find and explore what I haven’t seen or seen clearly enough. Photography freezes that glimpse and enables a closer inspection that most don't see. It is a record of an event, a place and a time, a subject, hopefully in light worth capturing and worth a second look.

I take photographs of things I see and want to recall. It’s simple, pure, and authentic. For me, the ultimate pleasure is derived from recalling my first viewing of the subject. It’s personal, it’s unpretentious, and in some cases I hope it is worth sharing.

Photographs trigger memories; remind us of our humanity, our intellect, and our responsibility to each other and to our surroundings.
